Introduction
Train Effective is a London-based football tech company. Training app features masterclasses by Rio Ferdinand & other Premier League experts, and has over 1 Million players signed up. They also organize football camps around the world, in locations such as London, Miami and Los Angeles.
The challenge
Train Effective reach us to take their experience to the next level, make it more engaging, innovative and keep users to use the Pro Version of the app. A lot of challenges at once, but with systematic, Design driven approach - we were able to do the UX review together, suggest a new look and feel and make the application more engaging.

The application philosophy is centred around 4 pillars: technique, tactics, fitness, mentality. The goal is to develop players holistically and help them become not just a better football player, but more successful in life.
With training and activities, you beat your records and reach a higher level in the application. You also earn badges that others can later see in your trophy cabinet. Compete with friends and other app users.

Timeline
The initial stages placed the focus on inventing – or creating -- the client's brand, starting with research and determining the art.
Discovery
Research, research, research. User groups, client interviews, identifying challenges, issues and user perspectives. Drawing out the scope of work. Brainstorming ideas and solutions.
Design
Exploring a variety of design solutions and ideas. Creating an MVP for both desktop and mobile. Working on design and design system towards the end of phase.
Product Dev Support
Finishing up the design system, collaborating with the coding department. Quality checks, test runs, coming up with marketing assets.
